With COVID restrictions eased in Victoria nothing was getting in my way to get out and about for an adventure with my friend Chelsea from Frenchy by Chelsea Elizabeth. We recently embarked on an Off-Road Animal Safari at Werribee Open Range Zoo, living in Werribee it was only a short trip to get there. For those living in and around the Melbourne Metropolitan area average journey is around 50 – 30 mins.

It was a great day to embrace my inner child, for someone who is 26 I still was amazed by the experience and level of detail by our awesome tour guide Jen. The duration length was the right amount and we’re able to stay in certain spots longer than the normal safari bus. My favourite part of the tour was visiting the giraffes. They’re a beautiful animal and very entertaining, we did get a surprise when one of them came close up to the truck and was licking the roof!

What’s Included?

This tour is more unique then the regular safari bus can travel off-road, experienced driver with knowledge of each animal, longer times spends in each animal site and general entry to the zoo is included in the price!

How long is the tour?

The Off-Road Animal Safari goes for 1hr and 15 mins, but you’re able to enjoy the rest of the Zoo before or after the tour.

The Animals will you see?

A few animals you will come across of the Safari include Camel’s, Hippo’s, Giraffe’s, Oryx’s, Zebra and many more!

How should I dress?

Keep the Gucci home! This is an outdoor activity and guests should dress appropriately, It can get muddy and dusty. Also, don’t forget to Slip Slop Slap

Can this experience be booked onsite at the Zoo? If not where can I book?

If you’re in a larger group you can add another quantity to the booking, for example, x2 for 4 people. To sum up my experience, I look to returning one day to Werribee Open Range Zoo. It is the perfect day for fun at all ages and can’t complain about the interesting information provided about the animals housed at the Zoo.
